The ingredients in Eroxon® gel — ethanol,[1] propylene glycol,[2] glycerine (also known as glycerol),[3] carbomer[4] and potassium hydroxide[5] — have a long history of pharmaceutical and cosmetic use and a strong safety profile.

However, what makes Eroxon unique is the way these ingredients are combined, using a proprietary technology developed by the UK pharmaceutical company Futura Medical.[6]

Eroxon gel is applied to the glans, or head, of the penis and evaporates in seconds. This evaporative action produces a rapid cooling, and gradual warming sensation which stimulates nerve endings in the glans and increases blood flow to the corpus cavernosum.

This physically activated vasodilation leads to tumescence or erections, usually within 10 minutes.
